Tough Love – The Post

Although I truly don’t understand why all the films this season all deal with events in the past, I am happy that some did.

With heavy weights such as Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep, how could this film not be a master piece?

The film discusses how the media exposed the US government regarding the decisions made during the Vietnam war. And not only does it address the role of women in the work place but also shows the shift of when media went from protecting those in power to holding them accountable.

An interesting idea considering the political climate in our country at the moment, which truly gives this piece of history a universality.

A truly beautiful and exciting film, dealing with freedom of speech and at what point it is dangerous, necessary or both.
